Cancellation and Refund Policy · Last updated 31 October 2026

Every Litany project is bespoke. Cancellation, postponement and refund terms are set in each client's production agreement. This policy explains the principles behind those terms.

Your agreement comes first

The production agreement for your project sets the deposit, the payment schedule and the cancellation terms. If anything in this policy conflicts with your agreement, the agreement applies.

Deposits and retainers

A deposit or retainer secures your date, our team and the creative work that begins when you sign. Deposits and retainers are not refundable, unless your agreement says otherwise.

If you cancel

You must give notice of cancellation in writing. The cancellation date is the date that we receive your notice.

Cancellation fees increase as the event date gets closer, because our commitments to venues, vendors and crew grow over time. Your agreement sets out the fee that applies at each stage.

Fees for services that we have already delivered are not refundable. Third-party costs that we have paid or committed on your behalf are not refundable.

Postponing

We make every reasonable effort to move a project to a new date. A new date depends on our availability and on the availability of venues and vendors. A postponement may carry additional fees, as set out in your agreement.

Third-party costs

Venues, airlines, hotels, caterers and other vendors set their own cancellation terms, which are outside our control. When a vendor returns money to us, we pass it back to you in full.

If we cancel

If we cancel your project for a reason within our control, we refund all payments for services that we have not delivered.

Events outside anyone's control

If severe weather, a natural disaster, an epidemic, government action or a similar event stops your project, the force majeure terms in your agreement apply. Where possible, we apply your payments as a credit toward a new date. Otherwise, we refund your payments less third-party costs that we cannot recover.

How we pay refunds

We pay refunds to the original payment method within 10 business days of approval. Your card issuer or bank can take a further 5 to 10 business days to show the refund on your statement. We pay all refunds in US dollars. We are not responsible for exchange rate differences or bank fees.

Questions about a charge

If you do not recognize a charge or think that a charge is wrong, contact us first at info@litanyevents.com. Charges from us appear on card statements as LITANY EVENTS. We reply within two business days, and most issues are resolved faster than a card dispute.
